The whole point of this website is to share with the world exactly who I am and what my art is about, but what am I actually doing?

In the days to come, you will see me posting about my daily activities, some will be wins, some will be challenges, but no matter what… they should be talked about.

Generally speaking, my recent work has been working on the super rough draft of a fantasy novel idea that I’m obsessed with, creating oddly decent little animated food creatures, and teaching myself new ways to make portraits of people.

One of my most recent artistic successes was teaching myself how to render metal (it was so much easier than I though, I promise you can learn it too) and teaching myself how to make a 2D cartoon character look like it’s actually blinking and speaking. Both of these successes happened within the last week.

My goal this week is to get my website to a pretty decent setup, add in product links, and create an official logo for myself (although I’m pretty sure I already have it figured out).

As for today, let’s talk about my website. Why did I decide I needed one? Honestly, I read a book (technically two*) and it completely convinced me that this was the road to follow. I paid for the domain for a couple years in advance (and it didn’t even set me back that far) and I got to work using wordpress.org to set up the site.

It’s been kinda obnoxious, mostly because I went the cheap route so I didn’t have to pay a bunch of money on extra subscriptions every month, but I’m slowly figuring it out. It did, however, take me at least half an hour to figure out why I couldn’t link my social media.

After setting things up and making my first post, I decided to set up a ko-fi account, which is basically just a site for creatives to sell their wares and services, and for their patrons to tip them or subscribe to their content. It looks like the love child of facebook, myspace, and a drop-shipper.

So… if you see that floating pink button on your screen, that’s the link to tip me via my Ko-fi. Feel free to test it out!
